Support our national teams during a period of international competition

Field Hockey Canada invites the Canadian hockey community to participate in a meaningful support campaign this November, culminating with Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. We encourage all supporters, alumni, families and fans to consider contributing to the growth and success of our national team and community programs. Our donation portal outlines the various initiatives that need support can be found on our donation page.

The financial demands of international competition have increased significantly in recent years. Inflation has affected nearly every aspect of team travel and preparation, including airfare, lodging, insurance, logistics and local transportation. In 2019, a typical international tour cost approximately $80,000 CAD. Today, that same tour often costs more than $120,000 to $140,000. Despite these rising costs, Field Hockey Canada remains committed to prioritizing athlete well-being and maintaining safety standards, rather than compromising safety for budget cuts.

Currently, Field Hockey Canada generates approximately $500,000 annually through fundraising, sponsorships and donations. These funds are entirely dedicated to supporting our national team programs. However, to meet growing demand and ensure our athletes have the resources they need to compete at the highest levels, we need to raise $1 million for the Women’s National Team and $1 million for the Men’s National Team. This is an ambitious goal, and we can’t achieve it without your help.

There are different ways to participate. You can make a direct donation through our website, organize a community fundraiser, or join our sponsorship team to build long-lasting partnerships. Every contribution, regardless of size, plays a vital role in helping our athletes reach their potential and represent Canada on the world stage.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that celebrates generosity and encourages people to give back to causes they care about. It’s a perfect opportunity to launch or strengthen your fundraising efforts. For more information about the movement and how you can participate, Visit the Giving Tuesday website.

Adopt an athlete, adopt a team: fuel their journey

Field Hockey Canada is excited to broadcast four international tours over the next two months. The men’s national team will participate in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia at the end of November. The senior national team will embark on a training tour of South Africa in early January, aimed at preparing them for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in the spring.

In addition to our senior teams, both junior national teams are preparing to represent Canada at the Junior World Cups this month. The junior national team will compete in Santiago, Chile, while the men’s national junior team will travel to Tamil Nadu, India. These events mark an important milestone in the careers of our young athletes and provide them with high-quality international experience.

To support these athletes on their journey, Field Hockey Canada is offering the opportunity to “Adopt an Athlete” or “Adopt a Team.” These programs allow donors to contribute directly to costs associated with travel, training and competition. By adopting an athlete or team, you become an essential part of their journey and ensure they have the resources needed to perform at their best.
