Canada: 2025 U18 Nationals Recap: A Week of Passion, Grit and Unforgettable Hockey

After months of dedicated preparation, the Nationals from 2025 U18 started with high energy and expectations. Athletes from all over the country gathered in Brampton, Ontario, ready to compete and present their provincial pride.

Days 1 & 2: A powerful start of the tournament

The U18 Nationals from 2025 started with high intensity when teams went on the field throughout the country and presented their months of preparation and passion.

BC Blue made an early statement with a dominant 15-0 win over New Brunswick. Striking versions came from Gursukhmani Basra and Madelyn Lee, who recorded both hat tricks, and Neeve Unger, who added four goals.

One of the most exciting matches of day 1 contained Ontario White and Quebec. Quebec first struck, but Ontario replied before the break. In the third quarter, Kristen Anderson Quebec gave the Edge, and the team held strongly strongly to achieve a 2-1 victory.

Day 2 brought even more drama and tightly disputed games. Pei’s Emily Lutley led her team to a 3-1 win over Quebec with a striking hat trick performance. In the meantime, Ontario Red Alberta walked 1-0 in a heated game, in use of a penalty corner while manages a series of green and yellow cards on both sides.

With early nerves and the momentum structure, the tone was set up for a campaigning competition.

Day 3: fighting for a place in the semi -final

While the tournament reached its halfway, day 3 delivered action with high efforts with teams that fought for top spots in their swimming pools. Every match was fought hard, with tight score lines and no room for mistakes.

The intensity and competitiveness continued to rise as teams switched to the crossover stage and the last push to secure a place in the semi-final and medal matches.

Day 4 and 5: High Stakes and Championship Glory

The last part of the 2025 U18 Nationals supplied exciting semi -final and medal matchups.

BC Blue provided their place in the final with a dominant 5-0 win over Alberta, while Ontario Red Pei searched in a dramatic shootout after an equalizer in the late game that was forced to bind.

On Finals Day, Alberta took the bronze home with a 3-1 win over Pei, which closed a strong tournament. The Gold Medal Game contained a long-awaited rematch of the 2023 final between BC Blue and Ontario Red. Ontario first struck, but BC responded quickly and sent the game to a shootout. With a sharp version and solid keepers, BC came at the top 3-1 and achieved the 2025 U18 National Championship title.
