After struggling through the first group stage with some unconvincing performances, England qualified for the Super 8 stage of the tournament after beating World Cup starters Italy. But again struggled to impress cricketing minnows.
After getting past Nepal in their opening match with a dramatic final-ball victory, England went on to lose to the West Indies, before a nervy batting performance against Scotland, and then battled past the Italians to qualify from their group in second place.
Super 8s
England will play all their Super 8 matches in Sri Lanka, which should give them confidence after beating the co-hosts 3-0 in their pre-World Cup t20 series.

Will England win the World Cup?
Despite their recent form, England go into the Super 8s as third favorites for the tournament, behind India and South Africa.
India are rightly favorites for the tournament, but setbacks can always happen, just look at Australia’s inability to qualify from their group.
We’re not tipping England to win, but if they get on the right side of the draw for the semi-finals anything can happen.
