Calgary Flames Cut Training Camp Roster, three players placed remotely – De Win -Kolom

The Calgary Flames have made three more cuts in their training camp schedule and have placed three players remotely to be assigned to the Calgary Wranglers. Furmer Rory Kerins, defender Ilya Solovyov and goalkeeper Ivan Prosvetov are all placed remotely.

What is the next step for these players

The line -up of the Flames is becoming clearer with these three movements. The Flames have chosen to keep Devin Cooley in the net above newly acquired Prospetov, with the Russian probably became the starting keeper for the Wranglers. This is a surprise movement, in which the flames probably expects it to start in the NHL.

Solovyov was very good in the camp on the Blueline, but the figures suggested that the flames would have a hard time keeping him in the NHL to start the year. Jake Bean and Daniil Miromanov both stay with the Big Club for the time being. This is not the end for De Wit -Russia, who should see NHL promotion this season.

The greatest shame was to abandon Rory Kerins. The Centeman was excellent for the flames during the preseason, but with the amount of depth they have in the middle, the decision was made to give him more playing time in the AHL about limited NHL minutes. This decision is enigmatic, because the flames have a question mark on their fourth rule, in which Martin Pospisil probably plays the central role. He has not been great throughout the camp and occasionally played on the wing during the preseason.

Kerins will probably find his way back to the NHL, but it would require space that open in the middle. Coach Ryan Huska said that he and the coaching staff see Kerins as a top nine Centeman, who comes well for his future. However, it is difficult to see that one of their current top nine Centemen is moving this season.

It is difficult to see that one of the three players is claimed remotely, because nobody has a real NHL experience and most teams have similar Twener players in their own line -ups. Expect all three to report to the cheekers and play large roles for the AHL side.

Training camp now up to 24 players

After making large cuts earlier in the week, the flames are almost in their selection to start the season. Their two goalkeepers have been set, but they currently have eight defenders and 14 ahead. Expect at least one cut before the season is opened.

The team has only one pre -season match that takes place on Friday evening, when they entertain the Winnipeg jets. Puck Drop is at seven o’clock, where Dustin Wolf is expected to start.
