Caitlin Clark earns 99.3 percent of record $16.1 million from endorsements, not WNBA salaries

Caitlin Clark earned an estimated $16.1 million in 2025, setting a new record for WNBA player earnings despite injuries that limited her to just 30 percent of Indiana Fever games during the regular season. The total included $16 million from endorsements and $114,000 from her playing salary and bonuses.

Clark’s endorsement revenue accounted for 99.3 percent of her total revenue. She ranked sixth on Sportico’s highest-paid female athletes of 2025, up four spots from her 2024 debut on the list with $11.1 million.

The second-year guard signed new partnerships with Ascension St. Vincent and Stanley in 2025. Existing sponsors include Gatorade, State Farm, Wilson, Panini America, Hy-Vee, Xfinity, Gainbridge and Lilly.

Nike announced Clark as its newest signature athlete in August. The deal includes a new signature logo, a collection of sportswear and apparel, and a signature sneaker set to debut in 2026.

Clark was the only WNBA player to crack the top 15 earners. New York Liberty point guard Sabrina Ionescu fell just short of the list.

Clark’s base salary was $78,066 in 2025 as part of a four-year, $338,056 contract. She earned three bonuses that pushed her WNBA compensation above $100,000, including a $30,000 bonus for winning the Commissioner’s Cup.

‘You get more [money] for this than you do when you do the [WNBA Finals] champion,” Clark said during the post-match celebration. “It doesn’t make any sense.”

The Fever reached the semifinals before falling to Las Vegas with Clark sidelined. Each player earned $3,435 during the playoff run. Clark also earned a $2,575 bonus for her All-Star Game selection.

The WNBA is negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement. Both the league and the players’ union agree that salaries will need to increase significantly to match rising revenue and franchise valuations.

Player marketing agreements pay up to $250,000 to serve as brand ambassadors for the league. Star players sometimes choose not to play if they have significant off-field income.
