Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler recorded their second title of the season on Tuesday in the Lynk & Co Hangzhou.
The top seeds walked past Nicolas Barrientos and David Pel 6-4, 6-4 in the champion competition, in which they saved the only breaking point with which they were confronted, according to Infosys ATP statistics. With their victory, Cabral and Miedler improved as a team to 22-11 after making their debut in Marrakech in April this year.
“Thanks for another great week. We did great things,” Cabral told his team. “I am very, very happy with our second title, and there are still a few tournaments to go until the end of the year, so we are just happy to get the chance to play in Tokyo again next week.”
By claiming his fourth title at tour level, Bond Cabral Joao Sousa (4 in Singles) for most ATP Tour trophies by a Portuguese man in the open era. Cabral and Miedler have been raised three places to No. 13 in the Pif ATP Live Doubles teams ranking.
Frantzen/Haase Triumph in Chengdu
Constantin Frantzen and Robin Haase won their first title as a team on Tuesday in the Chengdu Open, where they passed Vasil Kirkov and Bart Stevens 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

After they debuted their team in Gstaad in July, the German-Dutch duo is now 8-3 at tour level. They saved two match points in their first round collision against Rohan Bopanna and Takeru Yuzuki before sealing their victory in the championship in 78 minutes.
“Thank you Robin for playing with me, for answering the phone two weeks ago,” said Frantzen, who recorded his first title at Tour level, against Haase. “I am very happy that I called you. It’s my first title and I am very happy to do it here in Chengdu.”
38-year-old Haase, now a 10-time ATP Tour Doubles champion, is the second oldest Chengdu champion after the 40-year-old Jonathan Erlich in 2017.
