Martelbedrijf van Byju’s, restless Edtech Major Think and Learn, struggles with another problem because the Byju’s Learning -app from the Google Play Store has been removed due to continuous disruptions of payments for its services, according to people who are familiar with the issue.
Other apps that are managed by the company – such as Byju’s exam preparation, which are suitable for aspirants of competing exams such as the IAS, MBA and UGC Net, and the Premium app Think and Learn – remain available on the platform.
Although the Byju website continues to function, various functions are currently influenced by technical problems. Services such as free session bookings for students in the classes four to nine, as well as the Byju’s Early Learn program for children to grade three, experienced server errors.
Aakash Institute, the test preparation company that is owned by Byju’s parent company Think & Learn, remains fully operational.
Founder Byju Raveendran has continued to give public comments on the legal and operational challenges of the company, most recently the next chapter of the company, dubbed by Ju’s 3.0.
This new phase emphasizes a shift from profit -controlled priorities to a goal -oriented model, with a renewed focus on improving learning outcomes for students in the lowest performance quarter.
Raveendran also acknowledged that securing a $ 1.2 billion loan in 2021 was a mistake, especially in the light of available stock alternatives at that time. The loan is now the subject of legal procedures set by Glas Trust – the representative of the American lenders – in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). Glass Trust is also a member of the Creditors Committee at Think & Learn.
