Buying Bitcoin Treasury beats the offer: a 3-to-1 advantage

What you need to know:

  • Corporate Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) have added a net 260,000 Bitcoins to their balance sheets over the past six months.
  • The increase in BTC holdings exceeded the production of miners, potentially creating a positive supply-demand situation.
  • Strategy owns 687,410 BTC, while MARA Holdings is the second largest corporate BTC holder with 53,250 BTC; Spot BTC ETFs could further increase demand.

Over the past six months, corporate digital asset treasuries (DATs) have been a major buyer of Bitcoin, adding a total of 260,000 BTC to their coffers. This figure pales in comparison to the estimated 82,000 coins mined within the time frame, indicating a sharp increase in the use of Bitcoin as a business investment asset.

Business Bitcoin holdings are rising

Glass junction has reported that the Bitcoin crypto treasuries of public and private companies have increased from approximately 854,000 BTC to 1.11 million BTC, or a 30% increase in just six months.

The profit is equal to about $25 billion at current prices, and Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, controls the most BTCs with 687,410 BTC, which is about $65.5 billion.

Supply and demand dynamics

The increase in corporate BTC holdings is greater than BTC production, as miners were only able to produce around 82,000 coins during the period. The excess of demand over supply could create a positive supply-demand situation, which could result in an increase in the price of BTC. With 53,250 BTC or approximately $5 billion, MARA Holdings is ranked as the second largest corporate BTC holder.

Plan.

Conclusion

Spot BTC exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have the potential to significantly drive this trend. Bitwise’s Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan has even gone so far as to say that the price of BTC could rise sharply in a “parabolic” manner if demand from ETFs continues over time.

The continued accumulation of BTC by companies will likely result in supply and demand dynamics that are favorable to price increases.
