“My wife (Jackie) has counted the victories (2,000), but I wasn’t,” said Buten shoe. “Of course it means something, especially to win 2,000 with a horse owned by people who have been familiar with me for so many years. And to be honest, I could never have reached this point without my owners, my employees and all the support that I have had so happy.”
Butt shoe, always modest, started training in his home and was introduced to Harness Racing by his father at the age of 12 -when his father Walter, and a family friend happened to buy a horse to compete in Maywood Park.
The horse happened to be trained by Bob Welch, trainer Roger -Father. The two boys became friends and the rest as they say is history.

Buten shoe became involved in the yearling game with Doc Walker and Roger hooked him up with Delvin Miller. Through his work with the legendary Miller, he met his wife Jackie.
After working with Miller for four years, Buten shoe set off alone and he stayed in Illinois for more than two decades during the training of some young horses in the circuits in Pennsylvania, New York etc.
When the winds of change in Illinois began to shift, butcher shoe moved to Wind Gap, Pa. And the winter in Zuid -Florida with its good friends De Pinskes.
“My career was completely about relationships,” said bus shoe. “Some of these things are just event and maintaining those relationships. For example, I was able to meet Doc Walker and the Crawfords in Morrisville during a yearling sale when they have just started.”
Butshoe has certainly served his preference for friendships. From this writing, the 62-year-old has earned $ 36,999 million from 13,694 starts. He is known for his work with young horses, especially trotters.
Buten shoe, however, sees its performance as a notification to shift acceleration.
“It’s time to take a step back and let Tyler (his son) make a name for himself,” he said. “He and Lindsay (one of his essential personnel workers) are already treating so much. Tyler is so passionate about work and you have to be in this industry, but with every agricultural company it takes time to switch.
“So it will take time to pass on the torch to Tyler and I will also have to talk to my owners and see if it is ok to take a week or two here and there.
Buten shoe already has a plan, but of course it is not just his.
“My wife has always wanted to go to Alaska,” he said. “So she went looking for a cruise. I spoke with Tim Hayes and Megan and they took a Viking cruise there and had a great time. It will be nice not to do this 24-7 and spend some time with my wife.”
