Bushfire threat looms over central Victoria racing area | Just horse racing

The fire threat in the form of a blazing bushfire in central Victoria continues to threaten the region’s racing and breeding venues, including the famous Lindsay Park ground, the training base of the Ben, Will and JD Hayes training partnership.

In a statement released by Lindsay Park, JD Hayes confirmed to Racing.com on Friday morning that… ‘All horses, staff and property are safe after the out-of-control fire that has affected several horse properties in Longwood arrived on our doorstep last night.

In a statement to SENTrack, Will Hayes said… “Last night we were directly affected. CFA are heroes. All horses have been fed. They have water and all necessary veterinary treatments have been completed.

“Bunking down for another scary day and thinking of everyone in the community.”
