Bulk deal with MTAR Technologies: BofA buys 2 lakh shares worth Rs 55 crore

Bank of America (BofA) on Friday bought over 2 lakh shares of MTAR Technologies in a bulk deal, in a deal worth Rs 55 crore. The shares were bought at Rs 2,665.45 each, representing a 6% premium over Thursday’s closing price of Rs 2,519.65.Shares of MTAR Technologies ended at Rs 2,688.30 on the BSE today, up by Rs 168.65 or 6.69% from Thursday’s closing price.

The stock rose 9% today to hit a new 52-week high of Rs 2,740.45.Shares of MTAR Technologies are up nearly 60% over the past twelve months, a significant market performance amid weak market sentiment. According to Trendlyne data, the stock is currently trading above its 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs) of Rs 2,472 and Rs 1,829 respectively.

MTAR Technologies has been involved in high-precision engineering for more than five decades. The company produces CNC machines with expertise extending to the production of electromechanical, electropneumatic and electrohydraulic systems for critical applications in the aerospace and energy sectors.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4.2 crore in the quarter ended September 2025, which was 77% lower than Rs 19 crore in the same period last year. Total revenue in the quarter under review stood at Rs 139.3 crore, down 27% from Rs 192 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. In another big deal today, French multinational bank Societe Generale on Friday bought another 1,433,651 shares in Tata Capital in a block deal. The shares were purchased at a price of Rs 354.5 each for a consideration of Rs 51 crore.

The company had allotted 14,13,764 shares to Societe Generale at a price of Rs 326 per share during the anchor offer. The allocated shares constituted 0.99% of the total anchor quota.
