The government has announced that full-time e-hailing drivers are extra eligible for the Budi Madani Ron 95 (Budi95) Gasoline Subsidy, with the extra allocation from 15 October.
In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said that full-time e-hailing drivers do not have to apply individually. Instead, the government will treat e-hailing operators (EHO) to process applications on a group base.
According to the Budi95 initiative, all Malaysian citizens with a valid driver’s license are eligible to buy Ron 95 on RM1.99 per liter with a allocation of 300 liters per month. It was previously indicated that the standard monthly quota would be insufficient for e-hailing driver who is full-time active because they can use up to around 25 to 30 liters of gasoline per day for their daily work.
Elsewhere, the ministry confirmed that the monthly subsidized RON 95 allocation of 300 liters for every citizen’s eligible citizen yesterday was renewed as part of the monthly reset for it, which will be on the 1st of each month.
It added that from 6 pm yesterday the total purchase of subsidized Ron 95 gasoline throughout the country had reached around RM84.2 million, with more than 42.3 million liters of the fuel. From that amount, a subsidy of RM27.8 million in the program has been channeled. The ministry added that more than three million users have benefited from the program since the phased introduction from 27 September.
