Brunno Ferreira recently confirmed to Sherdog.com the news that he will face fellow countryman Gregory Rodrigues again at UFC 326 on March 7.”It certainly shouldn’t be a match that Brazilian fans are happy about, but for me it was something very good,” Ferreira said. “Even though I beat him in my UFC debut, he is ahead of the rankings.

Just like the first time he scored a late first-round knockout in his UFC 283 debut in Rio de Janeiro, the judo black belt hopes to surprise “Robocop.”

Improvements all around

“Since our first fight, I have improved my game, my confidence and my fighting style tremendously,” Ferreira said. “The past is the past, let’s write a new story, and I will definitely go after him with the same determination as the first time. I will certainly strive to secure my place in the rankings with another victory. Fans can expect a big war that will propel me up the division rankings. As always, I will start from the beginning to finish, but if it continues, I hope to win all three rounds.”After signing to Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2022, Ferreira faced Rodrigues in his first promotional outing at UFC 283 and won via knockout at 4:13 of round 1. Six months after the impressive debut, “The Hulk” was knocked out by Nursulton Ruziboev in the first round. After that loss, the Brazilian TKO representative eliminated Phil Hawes and Dustin Stoltzfus, both in the first round. However, in his fifth UFC fight, he was submitted via an arm triangle by Absupyan Magomedov. But since then he has scored three straight victories over Armen Petrosyan, Jackson McVey and Marvin Vettori.

Rodrigues has won five of six Octagon appearances since falling to Ferreira. That piece for “Robocop” includes notable victories over Roman Kopylov, Jack Hermansson and Christian Leroy Duncan, among others. The 33-year-old Brazilian has an overall mark of 9-3 within the Las Vegas-based promotion.
