Owen Farrell’s call to the British and Irish Lions team is confirmed, with Elliot Daly excluded from the rest of the tour with a broken forearm.
Head Coach Andy Farrell has also mentioned Fin Smith on Fly -Half for Saturday’s game against the New South Walatahs – Live on Sky Sports at 11 am (structure from 10 am).
Hugo Keenan van Ireland, Scotland’s Blair Kinghorn and the English Ben Earl in England will debut their lions.
Owen Farrell, 33, has not played an international rugby since he took a break after the World Cup 2023 and will participate in his fourth tour with the Lions, which were part of the Editions 2013, 2017 and 2021.
After 16 years at Saracens, Farrell joined the French side racing 92 last year, but struggled with injuries before he returned to Saracens this summer.
He did not play a competitive rugby nine weeks after a concussion, but in May – when Andy Farrell called his lion team – he confirmed that his son was contrary.
Daly sustained the injury after tackling Jock Campbell in the second half before traveling to the hospital in a pendulum to undergo an X -ray.
The English Nutback started both games in Australia at Full-Back after he has become a late matchday entry in the line-up against the Reds instead of the Ill Hugo Keenan.
“It is heartbreaking for the group that the tour of Elliot is over. He is a Lions legend who has added so much to the group on and next to the field in recent weeks and in the course of three tours,” said head coach Farrell.
“Owen will now come in and add to our options and bring his own Lions experience to the group.”
Tadhg Beirne van Ireland will lead the lion side that the Warataahs will come across while Maro Itoje will get the weekend off, while Earl mentioned number 8 next to Flankers Henry Pollock and Josh van der Flier.
“Congratulations to TADHG that will lead the side on Saturday evening – and also to Blair, Hugo and Ben who will all debut their lions,” Farrell said.
“The games are now thick and fast when we are confronted with a Waratahs side that wants to leave their mark.”
