A 24-year-old British backpacker could be confronted up to 20 years in prison after being accused of the death of a man in an e-scooter crash, in which her parents fly to Australia.
An Australian court denied bail to Alicia Kemp, 24, from Redditch, Worcestershire, after being accused of death by dangerous driving while she was under the influence. She was reportedly involved in an e-scooter crash that resulted in the death of Thanh Phan, 51, of a fatal head injury last Saturday. The graduated psychology is said to have hit Phan from behind when she accelerated a footpath of Perth, while her boyfriend was a passenger on the same scooter.
Kemp could be confronted behind bars for up to 20 years if it is found guilty. A neighbor of Kemp’s parents in Redditch claimed that they had flown to Australia on Tuesday to be with their daughter.

Kemp remains in custody and will return to court on July 15. The police in West -Australia said they will continue to investigate whether extra charges, including public annoying charges, can be brought against her.
