Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of MLB fans. All year long we ask questions of the most connected Royals fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly email surveys.
In this week’s Reacts poll, we asked fans who they think will lead the Brewers in home runs by 2026.
After finishing 22nd in the league with 166 home runs a year ago, the Brewers have largely retained their roster, at least from an offensive standpoint. Christian Yelich led the team with 29 home runs, followed by Jackson Chourio (21), Brice Turang (18), William Contreras (17), Sal Frelick and Rhys Hoskins (12 each), Caleb Durbin (11), and Isaac Collins and Andrew Vaughn (nine each).
With Hoskins and Collins out of the picture, the main contenders appear to be the other guys from that group, although Turang’s surge is seen by some as a coincidence. That said, I included Chourio, Yelich, Vaughn (who only played in 64 games with Milwaukee), and Contreras as the four options, although I left a fifth option for “someone else.” Here are the results:
Chourio received more than half of the votes and reached 62%. After finishing with 21 home runs in each of the last two seasons, Chourio will likely need to take a small step forward to lead the Crew in 2026. Yelich, who rediscovered his power stroke a bit in 2024, finished in second place with 19%, followed by Vaughn (10%), someone else (6%) and Contreras (3%).
Either candidate could reasonably lead the squad in 2026, but only time will tell. FWIW, Contreras would be my pick in 2026, especially if he’s back to full health after an injury-plagued 2025.
