Milan – The Pinacoteca di Brera opens its rooms for the first time for an exhibition that is fully devoted to Giorgio Armani, in honor of the fifty years of a career that defines the concept of the Italian elegance itself. Giorgio Armani: Milan, For Love Until January 11, 2026 in the PinacotecaComes a few weeks after the disappearance of the designer and therefore becomes an intense tribute, a tribute to his vision and his creative legacy.

Who knows how often Giorgio Armani will have run in the same rooms, so that he is inspired by the masterpieces of the Pinacoteca, looking for the folds of the clothing painted by Raffaello and by the great masters who mark harmonies in shape and color that are style. Brera is her neighborhood: here she chooses to live and work, attracted by a cultivated and vital soul, able to unite elegance and artistic freedom. In 1993, the Academy of Fine Arts gave him an academic title, in which he combined the consistency of an investigation that combines strictness and invention.

Piacenza was born in 1934, but the first steps brought them as a window box in the Rinascente in Milan and then landed as a designer of Nino Cerruti. In 1975 he founded the Maison with Sergio Galeotti who bears his name, destined to bring about a revolution in international fashion. Described jackets, neutral palettes, liquid cuts and the ability to combine comfort and refinement with Hollywood, the jet set and a global audience, who impose it as one of the most influential stylists of our time. The name becomes synonymous with timeless elegance, capable of dialogue with art, architecture and design.

The exhibition brings more than 120 creations together from Armani/ArchiveSet up in dialogue with the masterpieces that tell Italian art from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century. The clothing, suspended from almost invisible mannequins, intertwined with paintings and sculptures, so that the rooms of the museum are converted into a compelling path where fashion and painting are reflected. Essential cuts, measured decorations, textures and embroidery reveal an aesthetics that is able to transform austerity into contemporary luxury.

Giorgio Armani was one of the highest expressions of Italian creativity – An aesthetic strictness that has become ethical, penetrates his way of life and works – and represents the character of Milan to the maximum, “he says Angelo Crespi, director of the Pinacoteca. Nowadays, between the paintings of Piero della Francesca and the neoclassical images, the creations of Armani do not appear as simple clothing, but as fragments of a story that continues to speak to the present. Fashion enters the temple of art completely and restores the image of a master who transforms the substance into visual poetry and who, even after his disappearance, continues to dictate the lines of timeless elegance.
