On Saturday, Bryan Mbeumo will return to the Gtech Community Stadium for the first time since leaving Brentford for Manchester United – and he is expected to be the target of the Boo Boys.
Mbeumo is seen by many Brentford supporters as a club legend, with 70 goals in 242 performances for the West -London outfit between 2019 and 2025.
Forty-two of those goals came to the Premier League, including one in a 4-0 thrashing by Man United in August 2022.
But Mbeumo plays for the other side on Saturday and, with Brentford in the 17th in the table, home fans will be desperate to choose another day to score his first Premier League road for his new club.
Will Brentford -Fans Boo Bryan Mbeumo?
Many bees -fans still keep Mbeumo in the highest regard. But football is a tribal game, not to mention fickle. So he is almost certain that he will receive at least a few angry and hunters.
Some supporters will feel painful about his exit, while others will simply tolerate the sight of a former favorite in line for the opposition. Even players who have given years of service are rarely universally welcomed nowadays.
The atmosphere is therefore probably mixed – applause from some, whistles of others, and a lot of noise when he touches the ball, with the united supporters who want to stir the pot.

Man United star Bryan Mbeumo will probably be booed and hunted by some Brentford fans this weekend
Precedent in a previous Brentford vs Man United Clash
This would not be the first time that Brentford fans had engaged an ex-player in United Colors. Christian Eriksen, who was hugely popular during his short Stint in West London, was booed loudly when he made his first return in 2022.
That reception surprised a lot, but it showed how quickly loyalty can change in football.
Eriksen left Brentford on a free transfer, while Mbeumo ordered a fee of £ 65 million – a deal that concluded the total expenditure of United under Ruben Amorim beyond £ 250 million.
But despite the fact that Brentford receives a thick transfer costs – the largest in the history of the club – the return of Mbeumo still has the potential to cause a similar response to that of Eriksen.
Brentford -Baas Keith Andrews says that Mbeumo deserves “really good reception”
Brentford -Manager Keith Andrews has urged fans to remember how much mbeumo gave the club before he decided how to greet him. Andrews spoke at his press conference for the game on Friday, the attacker described as a player who embodies everything about the rise of Brentford in recent years.
He said: “I think Bryan should get a really good reception from the fans. Bryan embodies everything that is good about this football club. Six years at the club, couple in the championship, arrived as a 19-year-old, spoke very little English, developed as a young man and as a player.”
Andrews emphasized that the journey of Mbeumo was one of patience and growth, supported every step of the road through the club and his supporters.
He said: “He was given time, patience, support and I think last year was the highlight of that six -year trip. I know he really appreciates the fans. Bryan should rightly get a really good reception.”
However, the manager was quickly on the fact that Goodwill did not have to extend on the field.
Andrews concluded: “Having said that, I don’t want us to give him a nice reception on the field. We know everything about his qualities and hopefully will make it an afternoon that he doesn’t like.”
