Brazil reaches double finals as Egypt and the US reach the final of the Sitting Volleyball World Cup < World ParaVolley

Brazil on Friday secured a place in both the men’s and women’s finals of the 2025 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Cup, which takes center stage at the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Host nation United States joined them in the women’s title match, while Egypt earned a spot in the men’s final after another impressive performance.

In the men’s semifinals, Brazil defeated host United States 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 26-24) to advance to the championship match. The three-set victory continued the team’s consistent form throughout the competition. Egypt claimed the other place in the men’s final after beating Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-17). They bounced back from Thursday’s loss and came out strong heading into the gold medal game.

On the women’s side, the United States delighted the home fans with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-22) victory over Canada in the first semi-final, maintaining control in all three sets to confirm their place in the final. Brazil followed with an impressive 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-7) win against Italy in the second semi-final. The results set up a North versus South American final between the United States and Brazil for the women’s title.

Earlier in the day, Poland defeated Japan 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-15) in the men’s 5-8 semi-final to move closer to fifth place. Canada earned a hard-fought 3-2 (19-25, 25-17, 11-25, 25-23, 15-9) victory over Croatia in the men’s 5-8 semi-final, recovering from two sets down to secure the win. Germany later secured fifth place in the women’s competition with a 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23) result against the Netherlands.

In the lower men’s rankings, the Netherlands won the 9-10 match with a 3-1 (25-13, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18) victory over Thailand, while France defeated Australia 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-18) to claim 11th place. Italy finished 13th after beating India 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-14) earlier in the afternoon.

Saturday is the final day of the tournament, with the men’s championships between Brazil and Egypt and the women’s final between the United States and Brazil, concluding the 2025 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Cup in Fort Wayne.
