Braves hold on to Raisel Iglesias and Marcell Ozuna after a calm trade theadline

This year MLB Handelsdeadline Provided an absolute banger for the fans – that is, unless you are a fan of Atlanta Braves, in which we all experience what it feels like to be squid in his house and looking forward to Spongebob and Patrick with a good time outside (yes, I just wrote a description of a classic meme instead of simply posting the photo.

As soon as the deadline came and went, it turned out that the Braves actually buy a little at the deadline. Now granted, this is more on shopping in the thrift store instead of walking over the aisles of Saks Fifth Avenue, but the Braves ultimately offer relief to their injury-waved start rotation. Erick Fedde and Carlos Carrasco are now in the start rotation with the clear expectations for them to eat as many innings as possible before the rest of the rotation finally returns. They also brought Tyler Kinley from the Rockies as a bull pen piece.

The only ‘sell’ the Braves was to send Rafael Montero to the Tigers in exchange for the light -regulated prospect Jim Jarvis. That eventually became the only movement that made the Braves around this deadline that could have been considered a sales movement. Raisel Iglesias and Marcell Ozuna were the two biggest names that were expected to be moved at the deadline and both will stay at the Braves after the date. Now it is exactly how long both players will still be an open question here, because there is still the option to release them and to give them the chance to hold elsewhere.

With all that said, it seems that a market was never really explained for Raisel Iglesias. There was one lonely rumor that we treated here in battery power over the Cubs, but that turned out to be just a whisper in the wind. As far as Marcell Ozuna goes, there are rumors that he may have rejected one (or even more) deals by using his 10-5 rights, which is perfectly within his rights as an experienced player.
