Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor wore the Mets largely in April. They had cooled in June, when Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo left. Switched his cold stripes and hot stripes of people like Brett Baty and Mark Vientos and overall solid work by Jeff McNeil.

What the Mets are now witness – for the first time the entire season – is the entire line – up that works as a smooth and overwhelming unit that is not a shortage is insurmountable and life is always a meeting.

Against their rival division and the division leader there might not be a better time to catch collective fire.

During a second consecutive night the Mets de Phillies saw a lead, and for a second consecutive night an attacking explosion knew that shortage. Ryan Helsley coughed the benefit in the eighth only for the METS attack again to awaken in the bottom of the ninth as four consecutive singles-de Last a Walk-off knock of Brandon Nimmo-Refaded a rudder 6-5 victory for 41,914 on Citi Field.

The Mets (71-61) came back in this series of seven games from the Phillies (76-56) for the division’s lead with seven more head-to-head matchup.

Two games later the Mets are within five games, largely because of an attack that has awakened.

“What we really want is that things keep going well in the play -offs. I have always said that the hottest team wins in the play -offs,” Nimmo said after the Mets de Phillies defeated a ninth consecutive time in Queens. “We are really happy with the way the attack now plays.”

In the past two-plus weeks and 14 games, the Mets de Majors led with 99 runs.

The bottom of the order wore the club on Monday to a comeback victory and the top of the order was the key in two large innings Tuesday.

After Edwin Díaz blew the heart of the Phillies in the first of the ninth in a TIE match, the Mets attack started working in the lower half.

Against excellent closer Jhoan Duran, Starling Marte found a single and Alonso crushed a single. Baty came in like a pinch hitter for Vientos and chose one of himself.

Against a withdrawn infield, Nimmo hit a single in the left-left center for the 12th and last hit that the Mets would need, the club that just beyond the first base mobile.

“I feel that we are swinging the bat all month or so,” said Carlos Mendoza manager. “Now we get those balls to find holes. We use the whole field. We see, time and again, go the other way. With two trying not to do too much.”

The Mets could breathe out after an eighth inning filled with inhalations. Mendoza tried to merge the late innings after Sean Manaea had only lasted 4 ²/₃ innings and Gregory Soto, Huascar Brazobán and Tyler Rogers were burned.

A straight pocket of the Line -up of Philadelphia had noticed, so Helsley – who was largely poor but threw a scoreless inning on Monday – came in and showed the Phillies attack as the more resilient group.

After beating Alec Bohm, Helsley unraveled. He walked on Nick Castellanos before formerly Harrison Bader met a Game-Tying Homer to the left. Helsley’s next throw sailed over Luis Torrens’ head during a board performance that ended with a walk from Bryson Stott.

Mendoza pulled Helsley, who was booed out of the hill and allowed 14 points (10 earned) in 11 games with the Mets. He had allowed 12 runs in 36 races with the cardinals for trade.

Beyond was a lead that seized the Mets in a 10-battery, four-hit, five-run soil of the fifth. The frame started innocent enough and left the Phillies more frustrated.

Torrens was hit in the foot before Lindor remained his way to first base. Juan Soto-a victim so often good luck-has a much steamer in the middle grounded who simply demolished through the inner field. An aggressive Mike Sarbaugh waved Torrens home, and midfielder Bader Airmailed de Worp to have the Mets scored and both Lindor and Soto to endure a base.

After what might have been a soft run, a soft base runner came: Marte reached a walk in which Ball 3 seemed to catch the inner corner. The Phillies pulled Jesús Luzardo with the bases loaded, and Luzardo shouted at plate referee Willie Traynor and earned an excrement on the way to the Dugout.

The rebellion really started against FireBalling Orion Church. Alonso hit a two-run double before Vientos added an RBI single. Nimmo ended the score of the inning with a pocket fly.
