On the way to the 2025-26 season, is one of the biggest changes with the New Orleans Pelicans selection that the Pelicans will be without Brandon Ingram for the first time since 2018.
During his first season in New Orleans, BI made an All-Star performance and also won the most improved player prize in the competition. The following years, however, were characterized by disappointment and Ingram was plagued by a multitude of injuries.
During the 2024-25 season, writing on the wall that Ingram was on its way to the door was. With the rise of Trey Murphy III and the fact that BI was injured and in the last year of his deal it was clear that the pelicans would continue with the now 28-year-old.
Although the departure of Ingram was disappointing, because he was never able to lead the organization to the promised country, it felt like he was left on good conditions. That said, the comments made in Ingram during the Toronto Raptors Media Day suggest differently.
“The most impressive thing for me is to see every chair filling every game, regardless of winning or losing every chair. That was certainly not there in New Orleans.”

For Ingram to make shots at the pelican organization and their fans were simply not asked.
Although they are in the lower five attendees per match last season, the Pelicans also treated every conceivable injury and they rolled out most nights often starting line -ups filled with G League players. Not to mention the fact that Ingram, who was the biggest name of the team behind Zion Williamson, also appeared in 17 games last season, giving fans almost no reason to buy tickets by the time the mid -season came around.
Pelican fans must circling on their agenda on 11 March
While fans have to wait until 11 March for the 67th game of the season to see Ingram return, these comments from him only contribute to the anticipation of this matchup. Fans must be looking for the Smoothie King Center for this matchup to incorrectly prove the former Pelican.
Ingram spent 6 years in New Orleans and was part of the ushering of the Post-Anthony Davis era, so many of us expected him to receive a tribute video when he made his return 140 days after the opening evening. But now, while he makes shots at Pelicans -fans, I doubt whether the organization sees any value to pay tribute to his time in New Orleans.
This is really a disappointing turn of events, because many Pelicans supporters, including myself, were enthusiastic to see how Brandon Ingram got a new start and was ready to root for him. These comments have a ton there Fans in the wrong way And maybe some of his supporters have even changed to Haters. It will be interesting to see how Ingram is received by the believers of the Pelicans when he returns in March of this season.
