Fourteen years after his first victory, Oamaru Horseman Brad Williamson rode his five hundredth winner in Gore today.
His first winner was on the same track in August 2011 when he won at Graceandtemika for trainers Geoff and Jude Knight.
“Unfortunately they are no longer in the game. They have done a lot for all Williamson -boys, and we all had many winners for them. Matty clearly had the majority of those winners. They were good to let me ride for them and I appreciated it then and I appreciated it now. It is a big sensation to get my first and 500 and 500one Wins at Gore, “Williamson said no angel to win in race two after driving.
Is not an angel replay

Apart from the management of his own horses to win, Brad 184 drove for his father Phil and 65 for Alister Black.
“Alister and the Thomson Boys (Lindsay and Ian) have been big supporters, so a big thank you to them and dad and dad.”
The best horses he has driven based on victories are Majestic Man 18, Santa Claus Christmas 11, Pyramid Monarch 9, Alderbeck 9 and Vintage Cheddar 9.
All in all, Williamson has the 19 -group or listed winners in both Australia and new -Zeeland -10 partner Majestic man.
“The groups are the hardest to win.”
His three Group One Winning Drives have been to Australia who rides Majestic Man, in the Doulard Trotters Cup, Equine Mile and Trotting Grand Prix.
“To get three with Majestic Man should be a highlight of the career. He went there and had six races in group one level for three wins and three placements.”
Due to COVID restrictions during that campaign, Brad was also in charge of the training of De Ronde.
“It was a big responsibility, but dealing with an older horse that I had had a lot to do at home made it a lot easier.”
His best season was 2016, what his last was as a junior driver. He rode 70 winners and won the New Zealand Junior drivers Premiership.
“You can’t win it without the support of many trainers and the majority of my support and help outside of mom and dad come from southern people.”
Asked if it was a tough step to be a well -sought -after junior to become a senior driver, Williamson said: “It was it, but it would have been a lot harder if I had not had the association with Alister Black in my last year or two as a junior. Matt (brother Matty) who also gave me the chance to go more of perpetrators.”
In terms of bragging, Matty took 4,383 drives to reach his 500, Nathan 4,475 and Brad 4,817.
