Ex-Port Adelaide vice-captain Brad Ebert and his wife Bec have unveiled their newly renovated family home in Melbourne.
After making his debut in 2009 as a 17-year-old with West Coast, Ebert went on to a 13-year AFL playing career.
He joined the Power in 2012, was vice-captain of Port Adelaide from 2013 to 2015 and marked his 200th game in a 51-point win over Hawthorn in 2017.

Three years later, the midfielder announced his retirement before joining Port Adelaide’s football subcommittee.
Another appointment saw him become Carlton’s head of development and development coach.
He left the Blues to become general manager at Phillips Coaching in November 2025.
Last year the Eberts bought their 1930s brick home in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs of Camberwell.

They moved from South Australia to Victoria with their young sons Leo and Henry, while during the renovation their youngest child Myles was born.
The hardest part of the project was getting through it with their newest bundle of joy.
“It was tight and a long winter, but luckily the builder planned it so that we could continue to use the old kitchen and still have two bedrooms and a bathroom available,” Bec said.
“We only moved for five weeks when we lost that access and they were connecting the old part of the house to the new.”

Their 13-month renovation is now almost complete and there are still some final details to be completed.
The couple engaged builder GMW Construction and interior architect Rylie Fitzgerald of Rylie Fitzgerald Interiors to transform the house into a home for their family.
Ebert said the house still retained its historic character on the outside, with their addition designed to sit behind the original house, but the interior was now much more open and spacious.
Ms Fitzgerald’s design has transformed the interior space with timber wall cladding and custom timber mantel storage in the utility room, a stone-topped kitchen bench and a feature fireplace with windows on both sides that centers the living room.
In the extension, black Crittall-style windows and doors – a design characterized by a grid-like pattern separating large panes of glass, originally developed by British Crittall Windows – frame the views of the garden and let in plenty of natural light.

Ebert said the kitchen bench, which looked out through the steel windows and the sun streamed in, was his favorite part of the new house, while Bec nominated the kitchen as her favorite room.
“I also love walking through the front door every day,” she added.
“The color scheme and the large arches immediately create a feeling of tranquility.”
The couple said Mrs Fitzgerald had helped maximize space and storage throughout the residence, especially when it came to the kitchen.
“She almost doubled the storage space and incorporated the appliance cabinet and wine refrigerator we were hoping to fit in,” Ebert said.

Before founding her own studio, Ms. Fitzgerald ran a boutique practice in London and held in-house roles at luxury developer Gurner Group, where she designed for clients including Shane Warne.
Mrs. Fitzgerald said she enjoyed working with the Eberts on their home.
At one point they visited a stone garden together, sorting through several pink slabs before choosing a creamy natural marble, quarried in Turkey and called Victory Beige, for the house.
Mrs Fitzgerald described the Camberwell stay as “a wonderful blend of character and contemporary convenience”.
“1930s homes have such a distinct charm, and integrating those character traits with a contemporary direction is the kind of design challenge I really thrive on,” she said.
