Jordan Ayew is not alone. Many well-known star players have joined Leicester, who often performed well below their previous level at other clubs. Jordan Ayew’s contract expires at the end of the season. His time at Leicester will not be remembered as the best part of his career.

At 34, he looks way past his best. Since arriving at Leicester, he has scored ten goals in 55 league games. It’s not enough to wear the number 9 shirt and score five goals this season. This season he also seemed out of form. He doesn’t have the ability to play in the top position.

Jamie Vardy has been the ultimate number 9 for the club over the past decade and his conversion has been fantastic. To give this number 9 shirt to Jordan Ayew, it almost looks like you can’t understand it. Let this shirt sit for a while before you find a suitable man to wear it. A shirt is just a shirt, but for football fans that is not the case.

We’ve listed them all under achievers in our “Boys in Disguise” list. They all came to Leicester before or after their prime years in the sport.

Jordan Ayew is a living legend. 117 full caps for Ghana to this point, scoring 33 goals. He previously played for ten years in the Premier League with Aston Villa, Swansea and Crystal Palace. He is the son of the famous Marseille striker Stay Pele. His brother André Ayewwas also a player of great professional level.

Jordan Ayew is not a top striker. With all apologies to Jordan Ayew, he has never been used in his best position. However, his performances at Leicester have been far below what was expected. He had a different level in the past and his legs look tired.

There are countless examples of player abuse at Leicester. These cases are far too many to count. They underperform for various reasons. The decision to sign Jordan Ayew at all was strange.

He’s not used to his best. He doesn’t seem to be a player suited to this environment and setup. But he is still the captain of his national team and performs well when Ghana calls on him.
