Viewers were quick to react to the video, which shows the young boy standing up through the sunroof and hitting his head hard on the bridge as the car he is driving passes underneath.
A video showing a boy sticking his head out of the sunroof of a moving car and being hit by a tall barrier has gone viral on social media.
According to police, the vehicle was driven by the six-year-old’s brother-in-law at the time, while a female passenger was also in the car.
The clip shows a red SUV driving down a busy road as a child stands through the car’s sunroof, seemingly enjoying the ride. As the vehicle moves forward, the boy continues to lean out. Suddenly, the SUV approaches an overhead barrier and the child is hit hard on the head.
At the end of the clip, the car continues to drive forward, while the child quickly dives back inside.

The incident raised concerns about road safety and parental negligence. The video was shared on X to which several people responded. “The next time you leave your kids with their heads sticking out, think again!” said one user.
A second said: “I’m so sorry for the child. It’s heartbreaking to think he isn’t aware of the dangers. As a parent or driver, it’s our responsibility to keep our children safe, and that means never letting anyone open the roof while we’re driving. It’s just not worth the risk.”
And another posted: “Let the sun in, not your child out. This incident is a clear reminder that sunroofs are not for standing on or playing in. Let’s not wait for a lesson in pain…always put safety first.”
The car was traveling in Vidyaranyapura residential area of Bangalore at the time. According to Times of India, police have confirmed that fortunately the young boy did not sustain any serious injuries.
It was a lucky escape. In 2023, a teenager lost his life after putting his head through the sunroof of the car he was in and crashing into a concrete beam.
Edmonton police enter Canada said the 18-year-old had been traveling in a Toyota Camry in the West Edmonton parking lot Shopping center when the accident happened.
As the car drove under a slope, he hit his head on a concrete beam. Officers were called to the parking lot with a welfare call and arrived with emergency medical services ( EMS ).
The boy, whose name was not given, was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries. He was in the car with a 17-year-old male who had been driving and a 15-year-old female passenger. Neither reported any injuries in the incident.
