Mauricio Ruffy is looking for a fight.
The Brazilian knock-out artist is perfect in the Octagon (3-0) and wins fights in a very impressive way. He has been extremely dominant, takes each of his opponents apart and scored two knockout victories in the process. He recently smoked King Green with an incredible wheel shovel for only two minutes in the fight (look here). Ruffy has grown from just another in a very short time Contenders series Pick-up for one of the most exciting emerging of the lightweight.
Being part of the super talented “Fighting Nerds” team only helped his momentum. Fans are enthusiastic about his next game, and although there is nothing official yet, he is linked to possible opponents such as Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler.
A recent message on social media offers some insight into the future of Ruffy. In a video placed on X, Ruffy is with a nice steamy cup of coffee and a flaky croissant while the French Accordian Waltz plays in the background. When he finally looks in the camera, Ruffy offers a simple ‘bonjour’.
It certainly sounds like the Brazilian Slugger is on its way to UFC Paris, which is planned for 6 September 2025 in Accor Arena in Paris, France. As for his opponent, there is only one name in the answers and comments: Benoit Saint Denis. The ranked lightweight competition from France is previously linked to Ruffy, but from now on nothing has been officially announced.
Still, where there is smoke, there is probably fire. Ruffy vs. Saint Denis is very logical, a striker versus grappler match up with two of the most talented 155-ponders under the age of 30 on the Roster.
