BMW Motorrad India launched the new BMW S 1000 R on Monday, a hypernaked engine. It can now be booked at any BMW Motorrad dealer throughout the country.

BMW S 1000 R: Motor and performance specifications

The BMW S 1000 R is equipped with a 999 cc, inline four cylinder engine that produces 170 hp at 11,000 rpm and peak couple of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm.

The company said that the motorcycle can reach from 0 to 100 km / h and a top speed of 250 km / h in just 3.2 seconds, which is electronically limited.

For sharper performance, BMW offers an optional M endurance chain with a shorter secondary transfer ratio, designed for improved gear, while minimal maintenance is required.

BMW S 100 R: Design

The BMW S 1000 R has a unique Roadster design, with a Splitface LED headlight, sharp body lines and minimalist naked bike proportions.

At the rear there is a shorter and cleaner license plate holder, while the brake and tail functions are integrated in the LED turn indicators.

BMW offers three color schemes, including Blackstorm Metallic Standard, Blue Fire/Mugiallo yellow with the style sport package and the exclusive light white uni with M Motorsport colors that are only available with the M package.

The color concepts, combined with optional elements such as tinted sports windows in the style sports version and special M-seats and wheels in the M package, further emphasize the racing-inspired genes.

BMW S 1000 R comes standard with an extensive list of functions. The motorcycle comes with a 6.5-inch full-color TFT display with smartphone connectivity, Turn-by-Turn navigation via the BMW Motorrad app and a USB charging connection.

Furthermore, Rider Assistance Technology has been expanded, with Headlight Pro with day running lights during the day, a six-axle sensor suite that ABS Pro and dynamic traction control, motor resistance torque control, Hill Start Control and three driving modes makes it possible, including rain, away and dynamic.

For riders who are looking for a more adapted experience, BMW offers optional equipment packages. This includes damping control, pro -row modes, acceleration assistant Pro and a motor spoiler.

The comfort package offers conveniences such as keyless ride, cruise control, heated handles and tire pressure monitoring. For maximum performance and exclusivity, the M Sport package offers a Motorsport-inspired paint schedule, M Sports Seat, Lightweight Battery, Sports Silencer, M Endurance Chain, GPS lap trigger and forged or carbon wheels.

The bicycle weighs 199 kg in standard finish, while the M package reduces the weight to 196 kilograms. It has a seat height of 830 mm, a wheelbase of 1,447 mm and a 16.5-liter fuel tank with a reserve capacity of four liters.

Aluminum cast wheels are standard, shot with 120/70 ZR 17 tires at the front and 190/55 ZR 17 at the rear, with the option of wider 200/55 ZR 17 tires on the M package.

BMW Motorrad India offers the S 1000 R with a three-year-old, unlimited warranty kilometer, which can be extended for up to five years, along with 24×7 assistance along the road throughout the country.
