Blue Jays prospect Dylan Leach will join Manuel Beltre in the Australian Baseball League
Dylan Leach joins Beltre in the Australian Baseball League, a prospect the Blue Jays signed in the summer of 2025. Through 22 plate appearances with the Sydney Blue Sox, the 23-year-old is slashing .118/.273/.118 with two RBIs and two singles. He has also walked (four) more times than he has struck out.
He wasn’t drafted when he was eligible, so he signed with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League. In his first professional season, he slashed .302/.448/.558 with eight home runs in just 163 at-bats. Leach started the 2025 season with the Mustangs, slashing .386/.517/.750 with three home runs in 58 at-bats.
He signed with the Blue Jays organization on June 7 and spent the remainder of the season with the team’s Florida Complex League team. There, the switch-hitting catcher/outfielder/first baseman hit .163/.276/.204 with two doubles and three RBIs in 22 at bats. Leach was part of the FCL team that won the championship.
The Australian Baseball League consists of four teams: the Blue Sox, Heat, the Adelaide Giants and the Brisbane Bandits. Former Blue Jays prospect Conner Greene plays for the Giants and he was traded in the Randal Grichuk deal in January 2018. The season runs until mid-January.
