A Mornington family home renovated by Block favorites Emma and Ben has sold after attracting attention for its scale, finish and design history.
A major Mornington sale has been sealed after The Block favorites Emma and Ben put their renovated family home on the market.
According to a real estate source, the house sold for approximately $1.86 million.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 18 Brydon Close, Mornington, was put on the market late last year with price expectations of $1.75 million to $1.925 million.

The couple had previously spoken publicly about being forced to sell under financial pressure as a result of their reality TV experience.
When the home first hit the market in November, Jarrod Carman, principal of Carman Real Estate, said the property had generated a lot of early interest. He described it as “a great family home” with four bedrooms, a study and a swimming pool, and said the sale was not driven by desperation.

Buyer advocate and mortgage broker Madeleine Roberts questioned whether Mornington’s sales price stacked up for the location.
Madeleine Roberts, director of MR Advocacy and mortgage broker, said the result seemed high on the wallet, despite the house’s larger block size and turnkey appeal.
“I’m actually surprised for that particular budget, if I’m honest,” Ms. Roberts said.
“If it was closer to the beach I would expect such a price.
“Otherwise I would have thought closer to $1.7 million.”
The renovated kitchen features stone countertops, shaker cabinets and modern appliances and is the center of the home’s open living space.
The Mornington house sits on a 1090 sqm block in a quiet estate, with a two-storey facade and landscaped gardens.
Ms Roberts said the pocket, close to Benton’s Estate and the racecourse, was not an area she typically considered a premium Mornington address.
“I would buy Mount Eliza for $1.86 million,” she said.
“It’s just a more desirable location.”
She said scarcity may have played a role, but cautioned that the sale should not automatically reset expectations for comparable homes in the neighborhood.
Updated bathrooms were part of the Hamptons-inspired renovation, with contemporary finishes and statement tiles.
A resort-style backyard with pool and spa was a major draw for family buyers during the sales campaign.
“There’s a bit of a shortage right now… so if someone wanted that exact product, they probably went out of their way,” she said.
The Brydon Close home was promoted during the campaign as a Hamptons-inspired designer renovation, with multiple living areas, a study, updated wet rooms and a resort-style backyard with a pool and spa, plus a detached four-car garage with side access on a 1,090 square meter plot.

The Mornington sale comes as the couple’s Block renovation in Daylesford remains on the market.
Ray White Sunbury’s Aaron Hill said there had been limited research on Emma and Ben’s Daylesford home over the Christmas period, but interest was expected to pick up again as buyers returned from holidays.
Mr Hill confirmed there have been bids in the high $2 million range after the house was put up for auction last year, but “nothing above $3 million”.

The property at 5 Cedar Lane, Daylesford, is listed with a price guide of $3 million – $3.3 million, which has not changed since the show closed in 2025.
He said efforts to sell the house would “restart in the coming weeks” as buyers return and the Australian Open comes to an end.
NewsCorp Australia has contacted Mr Carman for comment on the Mornington sale.
