Suggments of “hiphip hurray”, spontaneous bhangra and quiet tears. It was a morning to remember at the City Montessori school when Luckknow Boy Shubhanshu Shukla The space in Tilde and History on board of the SpaceX Falcon 9-Rocket of the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida on Wednesday.

“It’s a great moment, not only for us, but also for our country. What can we say at the moment, I am struggling for words now. My blessings are always there with my son,” his father Shammu Shukla told PTI.
“I have nothing to say at the moment. I am happy,” said Shubhanshu’s mother Asha Shukla. “I know he will be successful. Although I am eager looking forward to him to return after a successful mission, I also know that even after returning to earth, it will take a while before he actually returns among us,” she said PTI.
The proud parents were there with many others in the Auditorium of CMS Kanpur Road’s World Unity Convention Center (WUCC) to see the launch live. Among the collected were his sisters, senior defense staff, CMS faculty, the city of the city of WHO and students with big eyes.
There was thunderous applause, cheers and spontaneous bhangra when the rocket kept away.
Posters of Shubhanshu who congratulate him on his historical space television have come everywhere in the capital. And his Alma Mater CMS organized Vyomotsav, a compelling watch party that transformed the campus into a lively “Mini Space Center” and brought tribute to his illustrious alumnus.
The celebrations will continue all day. CMS also arranged a live Axiom Mission Broadcast, a replica of the ISS Cupola module, a “Defy Gravity” photocabine, telescope display and a simulated Mission Control Center.
Born in Luckknow in 1985 and trained from Montessori via class 12 in CMS Aliganj, Shukla went to the National Defense Academy and was put into use of the Indian Air Force in 2006. With more than 2,000 hours of flight experience on Elite Combat Aircraft, he was selected in 2019 for India’s Gaganyan-human space program and later as the pilot for AX-4.
By sharing the capsule with NASA Senior Dr. Peggy Whitson (mission commander) and astronauts from Hungary and Poland, the 14-day mission of the 39-year-old as part of a commercial mission of Axiom Space, will contribute to micrsweerkracht research in areas such as human physiology, nutrition and sperm in the space.
CMS founder director Bharti Gandhi said: “Many CMS students have brought us laurels, but the journey from Shubhanshu to the space will forever seem like a beacon of possibilities for every Indian child.”
