Bettinardi’s latest BB series isn’t just a new putter, it’s a realignment of the production line.
While the Queen B Series is the brand’s aesthetic-focused line and the low-torque Antidote line focuses on innovation, the new 2026 BB series combines the two. Absorbing the previous Studio Stock and Inovai lines, the new line introduces a Variable Depth Flymill (VDF) face and a striking Savannah Blue PVD finish.
“Our focus has been on retaining what has always defined BB linen – classic shapes, responsive feedback and our one-piece millwork – while advancing the technology that impacts performance,” Bob Bettinardi, founder of Bettinardi Golf, said in a release. “The new VDF Face is a meaningful step forward.”

What’s actually new in the Bettinardi 2026 BB series — and why should you care?
Wanting something that goes beyond the feeling
While Bettinardi’s BB series remains a traditional one-piece milling design, the company has added some innovation to the face.
The new VDF plane features nine different milling zones, each individually tuned to provide optimal energy transfer.

“Consumers became so smart, and I think we have to do something that goes beyond the feeling,” Bettinardi President Sam Bettinardi told GOLF. “Through a lot of extensive R&D … we developed the VDF face, which I think is a story that not many putter companies talk about, and it has to do with distance control.”
The milling is deeper in the center of the face for the best feel, but shallower away from the center to maintain ball speed on miss hits. This leads to much more consistent distance control.
Testing by Bettinardi using Quintic shows that the new milling pattern produced 30 percent less variation in effective distance and more than 40 percent less variation in topspin across the upper, middle and lower positions of the face, compared to a traditional Flymill, such as previous BB Series putters.
What all this means is that whether you hit it on the center of the clubface or hit it wrong, your ball will travel the same distance.
“I feel like this is a great product line in the BBs,” said Bettinardi, “with the variety of heads we need to be able to have golfers closer to the hole, which will ultimately eliminate three putts.”
No rush to the finish
The new Savannah Blue PVD finish is striking and something you might see offered in an aftermarket custom shop, rather than a standard OEM offering.
Bettinardi said the final version of the finish really came down to the wire, because he wanted to be something that was just right to inspire confidence on the ball and have broad appeal.

“It takes a lot of effort, and there’s a lot of adjustment, and there’s a lot of finesse and massage, so to speak, to get the line right,” Bettinardi said. “We had chosen a PVD finish in the durability type, and the color was retained, but it always came out too light.
“We pushed the pedal, through May, June, July, until we were finally very happy with what we have today with the new Savannah Blue.”
Streamlining production lines
With the introduction of the Antidote line of low-torque putters in the fall of 2024, Bettinardi had five different production lines with their Signature Queen B Series, the BB, Studio Stock and INOVAI lines.
The new BB series includes some Studio Stock and INOVAI shapes in the line-up, adding great depth to the line-up to complement the remaining Queen B and Antidote lines.

“We know we will have the Antidote as our zero-torque, our Queen B as our aesthetic charm and our BB as our classics,” said Bettinardi. “So now I feel like we really have three straight lines… to tell the Bettinardi story.”

My opinion: innovation meets appearance
Bettinardi may have previously been seen as eye candy for your bag, but they’ve been pushing a lot of innovation in the putter world lately.
They were one of the first major putter manufacturers, after LAB, to enter the low-torque putter world in 2024, and now they’re rethinking what it means to have a milled face putter.
The new VDF milling essentially takes the milled feel so many players love and enhances it to aid in distance control.
In my own testing, I found the VDF reel to be much softer than the previous generation BB28SBS fly reel, but I still got the feedback I was looking for. When I made a bad shot, I was still surprised to see the ball reach the goal.
And with the new Savannah Blue PVD, you can play one of these putters and still have it be the centerpiece of your bag.
The Queen B Series honeycomb millwork will always be Bettinardi’s bread and butter, but this new VDF has immediately become my favorite sight.
Combined with the new finish, the new BB series is a complete series where function and form come together beautifully.
