Bentley is adapting its Beyond100 ambitions and its path to electrification.
For years, Bentley has been one of the most enthusiastic and ambitious luxury car manufacturers when it comes to futurism and sustainability. The Beyond100 plans, unveiled around the brand’s 100th anniversary, set out ambitions to transform its range and introduce radical approaches to sustainability, not just in what powers its vehicles, but also in the way it produces those vehicles, with a factory and production process that also focuses on sustainability.
Since then, consumer demand for electric vehicles has changed, and Bentley’s latest announcement has shifted plans slightly. Bentley is still eager to introduce electric vehicles, with the first, a ‘luxury urban SUV’, set to hit the market next year. The vehicle, which has not yet been named, is designed for everyday driving pleasure and will be less than five meters long and can be charged from zero to 100 kilometers in less than seven minutes.

Meanwhile, hybrid Bentley models like the current Continental GT and Continental GT Speed, for example, will be available until at least 2035, marking a major change in Bentley’s electrification timeline, and new non-hybrid models are still part of the picture. The new Bentayga Speed is a non-hybrid model, and another non-hybrid model, likely the upcoming new Continental Supersports, will be unveiled before the end of this year. With updated plans, Bentley continues to pursue both sustainability and ultra-luxury automotive excellence with Beyond100.
