The sculptor behind Cloud Gate, the iconic bean image of Chicago, tries to again sell his apartment in Manhattan.

Anish Kapoor has mentioned its Tribeca apartment on 56 Leonard Street for $ 17.75 million, or $ 4,963 per square foot. He first tried to sell it in December, at almost $ 18 million, but took it off the market after it could not be sold despite different price decreases, Crain’s reported. It was again noted in June.

On the 47th floor the apartment with four bedrooms, four and a half bathroom has a glass wall of 50 feet with a view of the Hudson River, as well as 12-foot ceilings, a private lift and a fireplace.

Serhant’s Krista Nickols and Martin Garcia have the list.

Kapoor bought the house in 2016 for just over $ 13.5 million, around the time that the artist married his second wife, garden designer Sophie Walker. The couple separated in 2022 and Kapoor married his third wife, Oumaima Boumoussaoui in 2023.

The asking price is slightly higher than what other apartments with four bedrooms have sold in the same building for. A similar four bedrooms on the 38th floor sold earlier this year for around $ 15 million. A three -bedroom unit in the building is listed for $ 8 million, and different units with two bedrooms are mentioned for around $ 5 million.

In the neighborhood, a Penthouse with five bedrooms on 111 Murray Street recently sold for $ 28.1 million, and the Canadian comedian Gad Elmaleh sold his apartment a few weeks ago for 124 Hudson Street for $ 7.6 million.

The building itself, 56 Leonard, was designed by Architectuurbureau Herzog & De Meuron. It is a highlight in the skyline of the Tribeca thanks to its unique silhouette that looks like a Jenga Tower Mid game. At the base of the building is a smaller version of Kapoor’s Bean Sculpture.

Alexico Group has worked on the building for more than ten years, which got stuck during the financial crisis. But a month after the sales launch in 2013, half of the units were in contract for a reported $ 450 million.
