No. 8 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is the only seed remaining in Basel, where he will face Ugo Humbert in the semi-finals on Saturday. Joao Fonseca and Jaume Munar are also bidding for a place in the title match.
Ugo Humbert vs. (8) Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Davidovich Fokina and Humbert will face each other for the fifth time in their careers and for the fourth time indoors when they meet again on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors Basel. They have split their four previous meetings, although Davidovich Fokina leads the head-to-head series 2-1 at ATP level. Humbert has won two of their three indoor matches after recently winning in straight sets at the 2024 event in Marseille.

Humbert was especially outstanding last season, but 2025 was Davidovich Fokina’s year. The 18th-ranked Spaniard has achieved three second-place finishes; now he has given himself another shot at an elusive first ATP title with victories in Basel over Lorenzo Sonego, Jenson Brooksby and Stockholm champion Casper Ruud. Davidovich Fokina was given a bye to Ruud after a tight first set, and his reward is a match with the runners-up from Stockholm. In other words, some wear and tear could also be a negative factor for Humbert. The 24th-ranked Frenchman has done well to beat Sebastian Korda, Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka, but a small lead could get a more reassured Davidovich Fokina.
Choice: Davidovich Fokina and 3
João Fonseca vs. Jaume Munar
It will be an unseeded affair when Fonseca and Munar collide for the first time on Saturday. Fonseca ended last season with an indoor title at the NextGen ATP Finals and now the Brazilian is set to win in Basel at the end of 2025. He secured his place in the last four by beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and getting a walkover and a retirement from Jakub Mensik and Denis Shapovalov respectively (Fonseca led Shapovalov 4–1 in the third set).
Munar was also retired on Friday while leading two-time Basel champion Felix Auger-Aliassime by a set. The 42nd-ranked Spaniard has been clinical so far this week, also beating Remy Bertola and Ben Shelton in routine straight sets. Munar was great in 2025 and he is underrated on hard courts, so this result is far from shocking, even if it is at least somewhat surprising. Fonseca obviously has superior firepower, but Munar is a much more solid player at this point in his career and could potentially recover enough balls to eventually break the 19-year-old down.
Choice: Munar in 3
