After he saw his progress stop due to a long -term injury, Marc Bernal has a point to enter the new season.
Barcelona has put enormous confidence in the young midfielder, who remains one of the most important players who is worth keeping an eye on the 2025/26 campaign.
Bernal, however, did not see much action during the pre-season tour of Barcelona to Asia because he had not received medical approval.
Bernal was made available to play
But a recent report from Sports newspaper suggests that Marc Bernal has finally received the medical approval of the Barcelona Team doctors.
This is after an extensive examination has confirmed its excellent physical condition and a very satisfactory recovery.
The midfielder was sidelined for almost a year after an operation, and all this is clearly a huge milestone in his rehabilitation.
He now trains without major limitations and will be part of the team for the upcoming Joan Gamper trophy.
That said, the approval does not automatically mean an immediate return to competitive action.
The Barcelona’s medical protocol recommends waiting for a full 365 days from the date of the operation before a player participates in an official competition.
Flick’s call
The final decision will rest at Hansi Flick, who will weigh the benefits of an early return against the risk of hurrying the process.
Although there is optimism that Bernal could make his competitive comeback in mid -September, possibly in the home collision against Valencia in the newly reopened Spotify Camp Nou.
For now, Bernal’s focus is on training on full intensity and to ensure that when he goes one step back on the field, it will be to stay there forever.
