Two qualifications are among the last four to compete for the title on the ATP Challenger 75 in Columbus Ohio: Stanford senior Samir Banerjee and Daniel Masur van Germany.
ATP No. 529 Masur, 30, has a career-high ATP ranking of 176 and made a challenger semi-final for the last time more than a year ago. He defeated the University of Virginia Second-year Rafael Jodar 6-1, 7-5 in the quarterfinals today.
Banerjee, who turns 22 in two weeks, only needed 51 minutes to place a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tyler Zink (Georgia, Oklahoma State) to claim his first quarter-final victory of the challenger.
Banerjee, currently 441 in the ATP ranking, plays no. 7 Seed Martin Damm, who eliminated the last Buckeye in the field with a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 victory over No. 3 Seed James Trotter by Japan.
Masur will be confronted with 2024 NCAA Fall champion Michael Zheng, with the Columbia Senior Die Alfredo Perez (Florida) 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

Qualification Alex Kotzen (Columbia, Tennessee) came to the short end of a three-hour match and 47 minutes with Oklahoma senior and no. 4 Seed Luis Alvarez of Mexico 1-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5. Alvarez will come across Perot in the semi -final.
Qualification Sebastian Eriksson from Sweden, a second-year student in Texas, is due to the semi-final after beating TCU-Tweede year student Albert Pedrico van Spain, the no. 8 seed, 6-4, 6-2.
