Aziz Olajuwon, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, has committed himself to Stanford, he told ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Paul Bianardi On Saturday.

Olajuwon, a top-40-recruit, recently limited his list to four schools: Stanford, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Houston, Alma Mater from his father.
The 6-foot-7 small attacker from Texas reportedly visited Cincinnati and Vanderbilt in recent weeks after making a trip to Stanford in the summer, per Borzello and Biancardi.

“I chose Stanford because it is a perfect balance between elite academics and basketball at a high level,” said Olajuwon. “It is a place that will challenge me on the field and in class, while I also prepare for life beyond basketball. The culture and tradition in Stanford really noticed me.”
He also gave a message to cardinal tans: “Get ready, we are building something special. I can’t wait to put on the Stanford sweater, to compete at the highest level and give everything I have for the program and fans. The future is rosy and I am excited to be part of it.”
Olajuwon becomes 10th highest rated recruit in the history of Stanford
Olajuwon became the first ESPN 100 -Rekrut for Stanford since Kyle Smith was appointed head coach in March 2024. Since 2010, the program has drawn up seven small attackers or reached the NBA.
He is now officially the 10th highest rated recruit in Stanford History, according to athletics Tobias Bass.
“Coach Smith and really the whole staff are people who really invest in their players, on and next to the field,” said Olajuwon. “Their passion, leadership and the ability to make contact with the teams made a huge impression on me.
“The visit felt like a real day in life, not just a tour. I experienced the campus, the people and the culture in an authentic way, and it just felt good.”
Olajuwon excelled in Nike Eybl Circuit
Olajuwon, who recently switched to IMG Academy (Florida), is arranged as the no. 64 outlook by 247SPORTS COMPOSED RAILS For the 2026 class.
In the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, it was on average 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists over 19 games. He also almost 42% of 3-point reach at the Nike Peach Jam in July.
Olajuwon is the second obligation for Smith and Stanford in the 2026 class and joins four-star guard Isaiah Rogers, which is mentioned as the nr. 131 front view of the nation in 247Sports Composite Rankings.
The Cardinal went 21-14 in the first season of Smith and marked the highest victory total of the program in a decade and earned a 11-9 conference record in the school’s ACC debut.
