Feature race specialist Awaitinginstructions proved too sharp for his rivals during the 2670m standing start, showcasing his trademark speed and tactical brilliance.

From a handicap of 10 meters, the little eight-year-old started like a jet fighter and settled behind the leader early on.

Driver Kyle Harper made a well-timed move to position the gelding behind stablemate Gee Smith, and with just over two laps to go, Awaitinginstructions powered home to win by 3.1 meters.

The result marked a racing quinella for trainer Matt Scott, who had a standout day with three runners taking one win and two second places.

Earlier in the day, former Collie resident Cody Wallrodt kicked things off with a victory in the opener, guiding two-year-old filly Straniero Del Mare to her first victory in just her fifth start.

The filly, bred by KTC Bloodstock and purchased for $26,000 at the 2024 Perth APG Yearling Sales, is one of only five by the stallion Tall Dark Stranger from that sale and showed great promise in her breakthrough performance.

Race two saw Into The Future deliver an impressive victory for trainer Peter Anderson and driver Trent Wheeler.

From barrier eight, Wheeler settled in at the back before launching a three-wide move with just over a lap to go, cruising to victory by almost 10 metres.

The double Westbred son of Fly like an eagle now has six wins from 44 starts and shares bloodlines with $100,000+ earners Bettor Move Around and Follow Rocknroll, the fourth living foal out of Rocknroll Royalty.

Trainer Hayden Reeves also enjoyed a successful outing, teaming up with rising reinswoman Abbey Vidovich for a winning double.

In race three, Gota Good Warhol defeated Hes Thunder in a thrilling finish to claim victory by half.

Later in race five, Del Bocovista Bay overcame a wide run and some rough racing to win by 6 feet, pushing his career earnings above $100,000, a boost to local breeding and a local standing stallion. Bonavista Bay.

In the fourth race, Michael Young recovered with Hurricanehope, who led from start to finish under the guidance of Shannon Suvaljko.

Since joining Young’s stable in mid-September, Hurricanehope has made seven starts for four wins, proving to be a valuable addition to the team.

Suvaljko ended the day with a driving double, his second victory with More Than Honored in the last race.

Trained by Craig Hynam, the pair crossed from barrier five early, avoided the scrimmage behind them and held on for a narrow victory on the line.

With only one meeting left in the season, attention now turns to Collie Cup Day on Sunday 16 November. The club is gearing up for a grand finale, promising another exciting day of racing to end a memorable season.
