Australian thriller about ‘hard to view subject’ that now streams for free

More than two years since it initially hit screens, an ‘exceptional’ Australian thriller is now available to look at the UK.

The four -part Safe Home series was released in 2023.

The ‘moving drama’ investigated the stories behind the headlines of the family violence and ‘the people behind the figures and the stories behind the statistics’.

In the center of the story, Phoebe, played by Aisha Dee of the daring type, is a young media professional who stops her job at a law firm to work at a struggling legal center for family violence that runs the risk of losing financing.

Although the series focuses on Phobe’s experience, it also weaves it in the stories of other women who are confronted with traumatic conditions and let the public think about what family violence is.

Based on screenwriter Anna Barne’s time working in community centers in Melbourne, Safe Home was supported by the producer between the descendants of the beloved Australian Series, Pubertty Blues and RFDs.

This weekend the series has also been added to Channel 4, where British viewers can coordinate for free.

At the time of the release, Safe Home was well received by both critics and viewers.

About the approach of the series to tackle domestic violence, Aisha explained that it was different from everything she had seen on the screen earlier.

“It was the fact that it investigated a little bit of family violence and domestic violence in a way I had not seen before,” she said Yahoo!

‘Their sensational news stories have a lot of influence on much of the understanding of the general public of this big problem of health and well -being.

‘When creating a safe house, we worked together with professionals in the sector. So, although fictional, it is rooted in authenticity and the real processes of the legal services. ‘

Safe Home, which has picked up three logie and three Aacta nominations, also plays Mabel Li, Virginia Gay, Thomas Cocquerel and Antonia Prebble.
