Until recently, the world record for the number of pullups completed by a woman in one hour stood at 725, a feat that has stood since 2016. However, just a few weeks ago, Australian police officer Jade Henderson took her own place in history with 733 pullups scored in 60 minutes. That’s an average of more than 12 pullups per minute.
“I decided to train for the pullup world record because I liked the idea of doing something that no one else has ever done,” the 32-year-old explained in a recent conversation. published on guinnessworldrecords.com. “I also wanted to see what my body and mind were physically capable of.”
Henderson isn’t the only grassroots athlete to rise to the occasion with pullups. In June 2022, Caine Eckstein completed a an astonishing 1,131 reps for the men’s record. Henderson, a fit woman, a police officer and a CrossFit competitor, fell in love with sweating as an outlet from the stress of her day job. Incredibly, she had previously torn her biceps in an attempt to break the 24-hour record before taking on the one-hour challenge just three months later.

After setting the new bar on August 22, 2025, Henderson told the Guinness Book of World Records; “I didn’t have a set number I was aiming for. I knew it was going to be tough to beat the previous record of 725, so I just aimed for a few more reps than that.”
By the end of the challenge, the skin on Henderson’s palms was peeling. “With about twenty minutes to go in the hour I felt the skin on my hands tearing,” she explained of the price of victory. “I thought to myself that my hands were already a mess and I was already in pain, so I have to make it worth it. I’m proud of myself for pushing through that pain and not quitting until the end.”
Now, Henderson hopes she will inspire others to step out of their comfort zones as well. “Set your goal, come up with a plan, and work tirelessly every day to achieve that goal,” she says enthusiastically.
