Home wildcards James McCabe and Li Tu pulled off a second-round shock at the Australian Open on Friday, beating top seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool 7-6(5), 6-4.
The British duo, who last year claimed the ATP year-end doubles No. 1 spot presented by PIF Awards, were one of four seeded teams to exit the men’s doubles tournament on Friday.
Sixth seeds Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski, who formed a new partnership at the start of the season, safely reached the third round by beating Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar 6-3, 6-2. Americans Robert Cash and JJ Tracy also advanced with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Marcelo Demoliner and Jean-Julien Rojer.

Singles stars Tallon Greekpoor and Botic van de Zandschulp defeated Matthew Ebden and Rajeev Ram 6-3, 6-3 and then meet Harrison and Skupski. Van de Zandschulp will continue his singles quest against Novak Djokovic on Saturday, with their Lexus ATP Head2Head series level at 1-1.
