Six Australian women will participate in the China Open this week, the most in the tournament history.

Australia will have his biggest female contingent this week in the tournament history at the China Open this week.
Daria Kasatkina, Maya Joint, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanovic received direct Main-Draw access in Beijing, while Priscilla Hon and Maddison Inglis qualified on Tuesday.
Hon defeated the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who made Emma Navarro upset last week in the Billie Jean King Cup event, in qualifying to continue to her first WTA 1000 event since Doha in 2020.
The Queenslander has saved six of the seven breaking points for a 6-2 6-4 victory. She is now opposed to the former top 50 player Viktorija Golubic in the first round.
In the meantime, Inglis gathered from a set to prevail against no. 20 seed Rebeka Masarova 4-6 7-6 (5) 7-5 in a meeting with three hours.
The Western Australian qualifies 1000 tournament for its second consecutive WTA and will participate in its third WTA 1000 of the year. Inglis will meet the international finalist of Brisbane Polina Kudermetova.
No Australian has won the China open, but Kasatkina and Joint are sincere opportunities to end the drought.
World No.20 Kasatkina had a solid Asian swing in 2024 when she reached two WTA 500 finals. The 28-year-old went on to the Korea Open Final in Seoul before he won the Ningbo open in China.
Gede 14th in Beijing, Kasatkina has an opening round bye and will be confronted with Sonay Kartal of Alycia Parks in her first game.
In the meantime, Joint continues to thrive at the WTA stage. In the midst of a breakout season, the teenager won two WTA titles and made her top-40 debut in July.

The World No. 36 achieved the biggest victory of her career when she defeated Clara Tauson 6-0 6-0 in the quarterfinals World No.12 Clara Tauson. Joint also dropped only four games in her 6-3 6-1 win over World No.30 Sofia Kenin in the round of 16.
The 19-year-old meets the Andorran qualifying match Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva in the first round, which she beat 6-4 7-6 (6) during the opening round of the US Open last month. A confrontation with Diana Shnaider is waiting for the winner.
Alex de Minaur is the only Singles competitor of Australia in the men’s event in Beijing. The No.3 Seed Battles Local Bu Yunchaokete in his first round match, a rematch of their second round meeting in Washington, who eventually helped the world no. 8 on his 10th ATP singles title.

In Tokyo, Jordan Thompson and Aleksandar Vukic represent Australia’s chances of having his first singles champion at the tournament since Nick Kyrgios in 2016.
Thompson is against Brandon Nakashima for the first time, with the aim of winning his first match against the American since Wimbledon 2023. When he conquered a shortage in their opening-round meeting to continue.
Vukic hopes to replicate his Australian Open 2025 version against Bosnian Damir Dzumhur when they meet in the first round.
There will also be some Aussies in Doubles Action in Beijing and Tokyo this week. John Peers will play with Czech Tomas Machac and Jordan Thompson with Casper Ruud van Norway in Tokyo, while Alex de Minaur works with Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and John-Patrick Smith with Brit Neal Skupski in Beijing.
