AUSBIZ – The liquidity engine that sends markets to new heights

This morning I became a member of Juliette Saly on Ausbiz to discuss how investors should concentrate on actions in the central bank instead of rhetoric – given the liquidity remains an important engine behind today’s momentum. In the past year, global liquidity has increased by approximately US $ 10 trillion, stimulating the dramatic increase in shares, defense shares and artificial intelligence (AI).

But this liquidity boost cannot last. As the cycle slows down in 2026–27 and the refinancing requirements, investors can be confronted with stricter circumstances. This means that this is the time to consider the risky strategies to move to defensive sectors or diversify beyond stocks of the competition for capital intensify and cracks appear in the so-called ‘Everything Bubble’.
