Stow, Mass. (Pop. 7.174) is a small town about 20 miles west of Boston. And it could be the center of what a confrontation could be between the values that arrange school sports in not just the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but rural.
Against the fall of next year, the Massachusetts Masters Academy will be built on the site of the Bose Corporate Office campus. According to news items, it is MMA to be a sports-oriented, co-education, entry-level and day school with a national recruitment footprint.
The idea is to create some of what we have called “SuperPrep” teams. They exist in many athletic disciplines, such as the swimming teams in Jacksonville Bolles (Fla.) And Hightstown Peddie (NJ), the Basketball Teams of the Boys at Mouth or Wilson Oak Hill (va.) Or Henderson Finlay Prepyamtam, or Het IJshockeytamtamtamtam, or Het IJshockeytam—Stick—studyta—studyta—studyta—stckeytam—studyta—studyta—studyamtam-to-studytam—studyamtam-to-studyamtam-to-studyamtam-to-Stuck-Stukaytam-Tariskytam-Tariskytam-Tamytam-Tamytamtam-Tamytam-tam-Tame Mary’s (minn.). And yes, you can start addressing the argument that the field hockey program at Pottstown Hill School (PA.) And the Lacrosse team of Girls in South Huntington St. Anthony (NY) is starting to develop into SuperPREP teams that year-old success.
The media compare the Masters Academy concept with Bradenton IMG Academy (FLA.) And the Hill Academy in Ontario, these two schools are sport-oriented, with ambitions of footprints. Fortunately, these two schools have resisted the temptations that have led to creating programs in football and basketball for boys who are only loosely connected to “schools” who have collapsed from media and official research. These include the notorious Columbus -Bishop Sycamore (OHIO) scandal in 2021, where athletes were present in hotels, and their training consisted of traveling to the local public library.
So where master Masters Academy? Will trying to compete under the auspices of the Massachusetts Inscholastic Athletic Association, which has been less than friendly for rules in recent years? Will MMA try to compete with the more than 150 established private or university preparation schools in the whole of New England for student athletes?
You can get an idea of what the thrust of the school will be if you read the list of programs that the new academy is planning; A list of teams planning the school includes ice hockey, basketball, football, lacrosse, baseball, golf, e-sports, figure skating and screens.
It is in screens where the school is expected to build a prominent national presence. USA Fencing is planning to move part of IS activities from Colorado Springs and to launch a National Training Academy to the Masters Academy.

Now we already know that the face of sport has changed in recent years with NLI deals and compensation of university athletes. What effect will a different sports -oriented school have at the process?
