It is one day less than a year since Royal Reactor won a race, but the eight -year -old Auckland -Reactor Harness Racing Gelding gets his chance to bounce back in the winners list when he is in the Downbytheside on Friday evening at Standing @ Woodlands Stud Pace (2090m) in Hobart.

The Pacer trained by Ben Richardson was placed on his last two starts and has signed the post in the National Rating 45 to 49 event.

“He finally comes back to his shape. I have had a few problems with him, but he returns to his best,” said Richardson.

“He will need a little luck on Friday evening, barrier may not be as good as he seems to be better in the walking line, but we will see how he goes and leaves it to Ricky (Duggan).

“Ricky loves him. He knows the horse very well and has won a few races on him, and he is enjoying him driving.

Royal Reactor, who opened the $ 2.70 favorite for Friday, took his last victory on August 30, 2024, which was his fourth victory of last season, where he was placed nine times in 20 Starts, with the gelding in two of the five efforts this year.

“This can be his last season, but if he continues to earn checks as he has been, I am happy to keep him around,” said Richardson, who currently has three horses at work.

Friday’s program starts at 5:04 PM and is shown on Sky Racing 2.
