The new branches will be on important growth markets, including West Bengal, Gujarat, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Jaipur headquarters AU SFB recently became the first small financial bank that secured the in principle approval of the reserve Bank of India for conversion in a universal bank.

Au Small Finance Bank is expanding its branch network in preparation for its conversion to a universal bank. It will launch 51 branches throughout the country on August 15, 2025, coinciding with the 79th Independence Day of India.

The Jaipur headquarters is recently the first SFB that in principle received approval from the reserve Bank of India to switch to a universal bank.

30 Liability and 21 MFIB locations in important conditions

The bank said in a statement that the network extension includes 30 liability branches and 21 microfinance and inclusive banking (MFIB) branches, located in regions with high potential regions such as West Bengal, Gujarat, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

Currently, AU SFB has a network of more than 2,505 banking points in 21 states and 4 trade union areas, with 1.16 crore customers through a workforce of 53,000+ employees.
