  • The fourth Air/Water Porsche event is coming in April and it is planned to be as big as the previous two standalone events.
  • Every kind of Porsche fan is welcome here, whether you have an air-cooled vintage 911 or a budget Boxster.
  • There will be celebrations of Porsche Motorsport’s anniversary and an auction of some super-rare machines from Stuttgart.

Founded in 2014, the air-cooled Porsche gathering Luftgekühlt has gone from success to success, including expanding into Europe and across the Pacific to Japan this year. However, closing the gates to the legions of fans of water-cooled Porsches (everything from the partially water-cooled 959 to the all-access 944) leaves many Porsche fans out in the cold. This is how the spin-off show Air/Water was born in 2023, which attracted more than 1,000 cars during its first full event in 2024.

This year, Air/Water returns to Costa Mesa, California for the third time, and it’s sure to be a good time for fans of the best of Stuttgart. Are scheduled for Saturday, April 25the main themes for this year’s event are the 75eanniversary of Porsche Motorsport, the 60e anniversary of racing in the GTP class, and the 90e birthday of Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche, a key figure at the heart of the development of the original 911.

As with Luftgekühlt, you can expect to see all kinds of rare Porsche racing machines and perhaps some unique special cars from the company’s Sonderwunsch division. But the nice thing about Air/Water is that it’s slightly more inclusive, so much so that the Boxster gets its own party too. With general admission tickets starting at $65, and kids 12 and under free, you can have a great experience for a reasonable price, even if the only Porsches in your personal garage are from Hot Wheels.

There will also be a live auction on site, featuring a large number of collectible Porsches. Two highlights of this auction are water-cooled cars from Porsche’s transaxle era: a 1988 944 Turbo Cup racer with a 7-Up livery and an SCCA D-Production 924. If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to buying an entire car, there will also be more than 50 exhibitors showcasing all kinds of Porsche-related items, from wheels to wearables.

Together with an optional driving event before the show, the entire weekend promises to be a buffet for every Porsche enthusiast. There is something Porsche-related for everyone, and everyone is welcome.
