Aston Villa must strengthen in the defense and in the attacking midfield positions, but rumors are consistently interested in strikers in the summer transfer window.
Villa is linked to different names. Reports were served with a variety of truthfulness in July and August, but there seems to be a genuine desire to bring in a center-forward. Speculation remains, even after signing Evann Guessand and.
At the start of the transfer window, Villa was connected to Alexander Sørloth, the productive frontman of Atlético Madrid who scores as if it is out of fashion, but was not really able to establish a start spot in the Spanish capital.
It is clear that Chelsea Vooruit Nicolas Jackson is being sought by Monchi and in particular by manager Unai Emery, and although the previous peak of Jackson under the Villabaas in Villarreal played him broadly, the subsequent interest of the club in Milan-bound teammate Christopher Nungku suggests that a number of nine was still a few nine. He also played a lot of his football widely.

Ollie Watkins replaced

The volatile reported interest in Sørloth earlier in the summer was one of the most intriguing villa rumors about the transfer window.
Unlike many of the strikers that Villa followed and indeed have signed, the Norwegian is a center-forward with one job and is two weeks older than Watkins. Villa must find the successor to Watkins-that is another reason why the Spits search to IS but Sørloth is not.
In depth
In an ideal world, the replacement of Watkins would start life in Villa as his understudy. That is a role that should be fulfilled this summer and a failure to do this would leave a pretty ugly black mark against Monchi’s name in the eyes of a fan base that is already starting to ask a few questions.
Jhon Durán was not planning A until he was. He pushed Watkins hard in his last months as a villa player and was the perfect player for this purpose in many greetings: a young number nine breathing in the neck of the senior striker and every opportunity to make himself impossible to ignore.
Durán was also as crazy and a box of pissed frogs and in the transfer crossshairs of the Saudi Pro League, giving Villa a handy farewell to the roads, but eventually, with wafer-thin striker, they depth.
If Watkins is not available, the current options of Emery Ress and Donyell are Malen. Villa can see one or both as a center-forward. Not me. Not really.
I like that there are different configurations available in which gambling and grinding the Center-Forward and right-sided roles share in the temporary absence of Watkins, but that absence is not so far away from the norm.
Villa simply does not have the answer to that and this is the transfer window to tackle it. It looks increasingly unlikely that they can do this.
Identify the profile
It is not an easy assignment for Monchi. In Malen and Guessand, Villa Doing have alternatives. What they need is the player who rarely appears on the field with Watkins, because he is an approach to Villa’s Record Premier League Goalscorer too close.
What they need is their new Watkins, not necessarily identical in a physical or stylistic sense, but a feasible follow -up plan. Watkins will not be close forever and it is unlikely that Villa will have full control over when this wonderful partnership will end.
A real, pure number nine must be on the shopping list-a striker that is young and has sufficient promise to be considered a long-term choice that can be identified by smart scouting and can be acquired relatively cheap, which offers the kind of sold-out value that Villa now has to accept as part of the puzzle.
The transfer window closes on Monday at 7 p.m. I think Villa will be able to do some things at that time, but in reality I have no confidence that this will be part of it. For now, with short-term needs in the game, a cheap backup or a spicy loan for a center-forward would not be the worst move.
Nunku is almost off the table and there is little recent proof that villas prefer Sørloth is tangible, but Jackson can be a logical choice. Emery would initially use him on the left, but he has the highly praised versatility, so the key to the manager’s philosophy.
The longer Jackson this week is at Chelsea, the more likely a loan becomes possible. I am not convinced that it can happen. If I was a gokman, I would be a leendeal for a target that we have not yet heard.
