Aston Villa reportedly became a member of the chase to sign a productive LA Liga goalkeeper for the end of the summer transfer window.
Villa has already brought Evann Guessand in, but can still be on the market for a center-forward with Guessand and Donyell Malen that are needed in wider places, and Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth is apparently on the summer list of Monchi.
Sørloth knows for sure where the goal is. In three seasons in Spain he is gilded for three different clubs and hits double digits for all.
The Norwegian International regularly scored for Real Sociedad in 2022/23, Villarreal in 2023/24 and Atlético Madrid in 2024/25, scored 20 league goals and topping Europe’s Five main competitions for goals per 90 minutes excluding punishments.
Not being a normal starter despite his excellent record in the Spanish capital has led reports that Sørloth wants to continue And three Premier League clubs are in the mood for part of the promotion.
Villa is perhaps the least convincing option compared to Champions League participants Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, but with Spurs that get a tune from Richarlison and Newcastle that still get the benefits of Alexander Isak’s drift shower, there is no guarantee that no guarantee will be a guarantee for a steventy approach.
Sørloth would not be an easy acquisition for Villa or someone else. His contract runs until the summer of 2028 and his transfer costs would be priceless. But if the Rojiblancos are motivated sellers, there might be a chance to close a deal.
Not successful spell in England
The 29-year-old has grown up to an elite striker, but struggled to find his feet in an earlier Stint in the Premier League who had joined Crystal Palace as a young person.
He made the switch to London in the transfer star in January 2018 and only appeared 16 performances in the Premier League. His most direct impact came in Cup football, where he once scored and another goal helped in the League Cup. He also appeared in the FA Cup.
The Eagles borrowed Sørloth on the Belgian side in 2019 and he also spent time in Turkey with Trabzonspor before making the permanent switch the RB Leipzig in Germany. He also did not get a foothold there, but has not gained a foothold since a first loan at La Real in 2021.
Villa has to score another goal in the 2025/26 season, with 0-0 against Newcastle on the opening day and losing 1-0 in Brentford on Saturday.
